Dear Concerned,

This in reference to the disheartening incident that happened recently. I want to draw your attention towards the incident of a T1 tigress being murdered on 2nd November, 2018 at around 11:45pm. The tigress named Avni was shot by Hyderabad based shooter Asghar Ali Khan, son of Nawab Shafath Ali Khan. The 5 year old tigress had two ten month old cubs and was living in the Ralegaon area of Yavatmal district, Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government claimed that Avni was a man-eater and killed 13 people. However, there is no such evidence supporting the same. Only 3 three people were recorded for the DNA sampling, out of which only 1 had the DNA of a tigress present. Moreover, she was not tranquilized and was shot dead. According to the wildlife protection act 1972, an animal should be tranquilized before being killed. The tigress was killed cold blooded and there are no evidence which claiming that it was not possible to tranquilize the animal. The Supreme Court, high court and NTCA (National Tiger Conservation Authority) also ordered to do the same but no heed was paid to their orders.

Nawab Shafath and his team members were trying to catch the tigress from last 50 days. 2 dogs from Delhi were called to trace her. Around 200 people were involved the incident and 80 cameras were installed to keep an eye on her but it all went in vain. At last, she was murdered.

The real reason behind the merciless killing was to vacant her habitat for corporate purposes. It has been heard that the officials are now searching for the T-1 male tiger and the cubs and it will not be surprising if they kill them too.

On one side, where we talk about project tiger and ways to save the endangered tigers, we are ruthlessly killing them on the other side. The incident is facing mass protests not only from India but also from other countries. No authority has right to end the lives of these innocent animals without collecting appropriate evidences and following a procedure.

As a responsible Citizen of India, it is my right and my duty to stand against this inhuman happening. I request you to show serious concern over the issue by taking strict action against Sudhir Mungantiwar, AK Mishra, Nawab Shafat Ali Khan, Asghar Ali Khan as soon as possible failing which, we the entire Animal Community will boycott BJP in 2019 elections. It is in your hand to save the other tigers who are being chased. As a citizen of India, I put my trust in you. Kindly look into the matter for the sake of humanity, for the sake of India and for the sake of the World.

I hope to hear from you soon.
